We have had a fantastic weekend in Prague and have been lucky with blue skies and warm(ish) days of 5-7 degrees.
We are staying near Wenceslas square in a great air B and B flat with my friends Carrie and Sue from St Vs days. It's lovely to see old friends again.
We have explored the picturesque old town up and down both sides of the river including the castle. (Seen from Charles bridge below). To balance this there's an interesting mix of modern art statues around the city including a giant metronome on a hillside.
We had good renditions of the local meat am dumplings cuisine at kolnovka and novomestesky pivovar, a mirangue as big as your face at bakeshop and gorgeous French tarte orange at gourmand au gourmand. Lucky we're doing lots of walking around to balance all this eating!
Today we went to classic Cafe Savoy for gentile breakfast before a stroll down the Vltava river to vysehrad castle. The interior of the saint Peter and Paul cathedral is spectacular art nouveau. Outside the new yarn bombing trend brightened up winter trees.
The Jewish museum and cemetery and synagogues of the original ghetto has interesting and heart rending exhibits of the place of Jewish people in Czech society over the centuries.
