Day 6 to Los Arcos

Today we took a less travelled diversion through forest instead of towns which was a nice cool change away from the crowds before crossing fields to Los Arcos. It is a remarkably small and dry town with a rather large church. The interior of the church is spectacular in its painting and wall to wall gilded alters. The cloister is very pretty with carved ?Gothic arches and a rose garden.
Our hostel is very friendly and has a kitchen so we have been able to bring vege and egg tagine to rural Spain and have a rest from the grilled meat (not that the food has been bad!). Out of respect for the local produce we had a side of the white asparagus that has been growing in the hills we walked through the last 2 days in Navarra and of course, jamon Serrano.
